AES will host a new session for Fellowship Program Directors at this year's Annual Meeting. The session is intended for current Epilepsy Fellowship Program Directors, Clinical Neurophysiology Program Directors, and those interested in starting an Epilepsy Fellowship
Company Auctions State-of-the-Art EEG Machine, Contributes all Proceeds to American Epilepsy Society’s Research and Training Fellowships Nihon Kohden will donate 100 percent of the auction proceeds to the AES, and will present its donation on December 6 at 1:00 p.m. during the Society’s annual meeting in Seattle
(ABPN) certification in epilepsy has been extended from the year 2017 to 2018. AES, at the request of the AES Fellowship Program Directors Committee, successfully petitioned ABPN and obtained this extension to further facilitate the establishment of additional epilepsy training programs. David Ficker, MD, chair of the Committee noted, "we have made significant progress in the development of ACGME-approved training programs in epilepsy, and this request was made to allow ample time for all program directors interested in qualifying for certification to prepare and sit for the exam."
This session will fulfill ACGME requirements.

For the first time AES has joined in recognizing Epilepsy Awareness Month with our Epilepsy: A Window on the Brain materials . This is part of AES’ overall strategic focus to communicate more visibly the impact of epilepsy and raise awareness of the scientific strides being made by our members and others, while also highlighting AES’ role as the primary interdisciplinary society in the field. AES’s Epilepsy Awareness Campaign has been very well received by our epilepsy community and beyond and has created quite a bit of excitement and interaction on social media
