New and Familiar Faces Form AES Team

With the AES transition to Chicago well underway, I’d like to take a moment to introduce you to a few of the new and familiar team members who will be working with AES. Most of the staff will be located in Chicago, but a few of our staff will work outside of Chicago. We continue to add new team members and I’ll be sharing additional hires with you in the coming weeks. Here are some of the new and familiar people who have joined the AES team:
Janice Mackovitch -- Governance and Administration Manager.  In this role Janice will manage governance and administration projects and activities for AES and will support the Board of Directors and Board committees and the executive office.  Janice most recently served as Liaison to the Board and Executive Office at The American Health Information Management Association. 
Cara Long, Ph.D. -- Sr. Manager, Research.  Cara will manage and enhance AES’s research and training activities which include basic, clinical and translational research. Cara has served for the past eight years as Health Science Policy Analyst at the NINDS at NIH. Cara starts with AES on July 13. 
Debra L. Gist, MPH, FACEHP -- Director of Education and Professional DevelopmentDebbie will be responsible for developing, delivering and evaluating the entire AES education portfolio. In her most recent position with the American Academy of Dermatology serving as Senior Director of Education. She has also served in senior education roles with the American College of Cardiology, Duke University Medical School and Sharp Healthcare. Debbie will start with AES in August.  
JoLynn Amsden -- Education Program Manager. JoLynn will continue to manage collection of submissions and support of faculty for both meetings and enduring materials and will have an expanded responsibility for coordination of content development and production of education activities.  JoLynn has served AES for the past 11 years. She joins the AES staff on July 1.      
Elizabeth Kunsey -- Manager of Meetings In this role she will continue to manage the overall advance and on site logistics of the AES Annual Meeting, as well as other meetings and events.  She will serve as primary point of contact and coordination for all meetings contractors and vendors, assuring smooth and efficient operations.  For the past 14 years Elizabeth has supported AES as Senior Meeting Planner. She joins the AES staff on July 1.
